How it's made
Real rock, captured exactly.
Every Verity set starts outside, on the actual line. We don't design holds that look like rock. We copy the rock itself.
- 01
Scan
We take a 3D scanner to the crag and capture each hold of the problem in place, including its shape, angle and texture.
- 02
Print
The scan becomes a high-resolution resin print. This master holds the detail that makes a hold feel real: the grain, the edges, and the dimple your thumb finds.
- 03
Mold
The master is cast in silicone, which picks up every surface detail and lets us reproduce the hold again and again without losing accuracy.
- 04
Cast
Each hold is poured in durable polyurethane, the same family of material used by gym hold makers. It's built to be bolted on, climbed on and reset for years.
- 05
Set
Every set ships with a guide showing how the holds sit on the original problem, so you can rebuild the line on your wall.
Our story
It started with a friend who couldn't train all year.
When I moved to Grand Rapids, I didn't know many people. A good friend told me I should try rock climbing, then took me himself. I was hooked right away. Before long I was climbing all over Grand Rapids and Holland, and then outside on real rock.
The idea for Verity came from that same friend. One day he was complaining that there was no way to keep training for outdoor climbing year-round. I started thinking about how to solve that. The climbing community welcomed me when I was new in town, and Verity is my way of giving something back.

Why it matters
Climb it inside. Then go climb the real thing.
The gap between gym climbing and outdoor climbing is mostly a mental one. Outside, the rock is unfamiliar, the walls are taller and there's no color-coded tape telling you where to go. Many climbers who'd do just fine never try.
So we bring the outdoors in. Learn a real problem on your home wall or at your gym, where you're comfortable. When you walk up to the real thing, you already know every move.
Our first release comes from Oak Park in Grand Ledge, the home crag for climbers across Michigan's Lower Peninsula. It's only the start. We're traveling to scan the routes climbers want most, across the country.
Respect the rock
Every set comes from a real place with a real climbing community. We're committed to working with land managers and local climbers, leaving no trace when we scan, and encouraging everyone who climbs a Verity set to go visit the original and treat it with care.
